National Nutrition Month: Essay Poetry & Rap ContestTo celebrate National Nutrition Month, SDUSD food services is having an essay, poetry and rap contest from March 1-31. All students who attend San Diego Unified School District from grades kindergarten through twelfth grade are invited to enter. This year’s topic: “ Why is it important to maintain a healthy weight and what is the best way to do it?” the entries are going to be judge in this on correctness and thoroughness of answer, clarity, spelling grammar and presentation. The first prize all grades: $100 gift certificate to Barnes & Noble Book Sellers Plus K-2: Family four pack of tickets to Sea World 3-5: Individual sleepover at Sea World 6-8: Dolphin interaction program at Sea World 9-12: Four Sea World fun cards for admission throughout 2008 Second prize all grades get a $100 gift certificate to Barnes & Noble Book Sellers. Third prize all grades get a $75 gift certificate to Barnes & Noble Book Sellers.Not only can the student win but teachers can win too by entering their classwork in the contest. The name of each teacher would be entered in the drawing to win a silver passport to Sea World. The school with the most student entries will win an entire set of Sea World publications for their library.
