AASU VALUES
APPROPRIATENESS: There are accepted rules for personal
conduct. Once you learn these rules you know how to behave, especiallly in
new or confusing situations.
RESPECT: Love
and respect yourself so that you will be able to respect others and their
rights. Self-respect enables you to be in control of your behavior.
KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge
about yourself your social enviornment, and the choices available to you
provide you with a sense of power. Knowledge will enable you to make wise
choices and give you some control over the situations that will occur in
your life.
EXCELLENCE: It
is important to strive to be your best and to do your best in all things.
Achievement results in a sense of self worth.
ADAPTABILITY: It
is sometimes necessary to adjust to unexpected events. Family situations
may require you to take on roles and responsibilities of other family members.
Mutual responsibility strengthens the family unit and also allows you to
develop your potential.
RESTRAINT: Your
sense of self-woth, along with family values and rules, will enable you to
exercise control of your behavior and decisions. The ability to set limits
on yourself will increase you self-esteem and help you reach your personal
goals.
