National
Honor Society 2007-2008
The purpose of the Mission Bay Chapter of the National Honor
Society is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire
to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the
development of character in students of Mission Bay High School.Students
must be current juniors or seniors, have attended Mission Bay High School
for at least one full semester, and are selected based on four criteria.
First students must have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater. Next,
the Faculty Council (a team of five teachers representing different departments,
appointed by the principal) considers each candidate’s contributions
in community service, leadership and club/sports and community activities,
and character—that the student demonstrates integrity, responsibility,
and honor. The students selected demonstrate all four of the Society’s
treasured qualities: scholarship, leadership, character, and service.
